20 Days of Writing: Ideas and Progress
It's been 20 days since I started writing. The water is boiling, and steam is coming out continuously. I've written more these past 20 days than in the past 20 years.
Quantity > Quality: Prioritize Writing
Of course, not all my posts have been worthy of my previous standards. Still, I'm determined not to break the streak and hopefully find that some of these ideas will come together at some point. I have prioritized hitting the publish button over anything else, even quality. There have been days I've written something only to realize I had more or better ideas for that post. Will that be a lost opportunity? I've rationalized that it is not. Had I not committed to publishing, no matter what, most of these ideas would have been lost. Streaks have tremendous power, and I believe that this blog is no exception.
No Traffic = Free Writing
There is one thing I thought was going to be different. To the best of my knowledge, there has been absolutely no traffic to my posts. I take solace in that, and I see it as an opportunity to continue to write freely about everything and anything. It could also become a library for me to archive ideas that can someday turn into something more substantial. Until then, I will continue to throw more ideas in the wall, hoping something sticks.
I still have a lot to learn, and I hope that when this streak ends, it will be with me as a better writer and thinker. Until then, I will keep hitting the publish button. Let's see where that takes us.
