9 Life-Changing Purchases Under $250 That You Need in Your Life
This here is a simple and fun post. I often think about some products I would purchase again and recommend to most people. So I gathered 9 of them that came to mind as I wrote this.
1. Standup Desk Add-On (around $200)
Sitting all day is so very unhealthy. At the start of the pandemic, I got myself a standup desk add-on, and I can't imagine working without it anymore. It's improved my posture, boosted my energy levels, and I feel more productive overall. Plus, standing up or walking after a meal is beneficial for better digestion, lower sugar spikes, and overall health. Due to oversupply, I believe there are now many options at an affordable price point.
2. Fitness Coach ($100 per month)
Investing in my health is always a priority. Starting last year, I began running with the guidance of a fitness and running coach: it's been worth every single penny. The personalized advice and motivation I receive have helped me stay active and improve my fitness level. Also, she can provide routines I would have never come up with myself and those more necessary for my other activities such as running, golf, padel tennis, and others.
3. Smartwatch (Garmin) (around $250)
My Garmin smartwatch is a true game-changer. It helps me track my fitness goals, monitors my sleep, and even keeps my score during golf rounds. With my trusty Garmin, I've run about five half marathons and one full marathon, logged nearly 15 million steps, and covered 13,000 km. I've had my Fenix 5s for five years and believe I can get at least three more. It doesn't get more value for money than that.
4. Brooks Running Shoes (under $150)
As an overpronator, finding the right running shoes has been a challenge. But then I discovered Brooks, and they've been a perfect fit. I use Adrenaline GTS. They keep my feet comfy and help me avoid injuries, making my daily jogs much more enjoyable.
5. Global Entry (under $250)
As someone who loves to travel, Global Entry has been an absolute lifesaver for my family and me. The expedited security, customs clearance, and SENTRI lane access for driving across borders are worth every cent. Last year we traveled to L.A. When we arrived, the immigration lines were hundreds of people long. What would have taken us at least one hour took less than 2 minutes. We're never going back.
6. Yoga Mat (under $50)
I don't consider myself a big yoga guy; however, when I know I won't be able to exercise, I at least try to do something simple on my mat during the morning. My trusty yoga mat has become a daily essential. It's a simple product that helps me get every morning started with a 5-10 minute yoga routine. My favorite YouTube channel for that is Yoga with Adriene. Plus, it's very easy to clean and store.
7. Foam Roller (under $50)
This gem has been a game-changer in my post-workout recovery routine. The foam roller helps me release muscle tension, improve flexibility, and reduce soreness. As someone who struggles with knee issues, this has been particularly helpful.
8. Iron Skillet (under $50)
An iron skillet is one of those kitchen essentials you never knew you needed until you have one. It's versatile, durable, and perfect for cooking delicious meals. The Skillet got me through as a student by helping me cook nice and even steaks and eggs.
9. Blackstone Griddle (under $250)
Last but not least, my Blackstone griddle has elevated my cooking game. I got it on February 2020, right before we all sought shelter in our homes. It has been perfect for whipping up mouth-watering breakfasts, delicious stir-fries, and even smash burgers, which my kids love. Their enthusiasm alone makes this purchase worth it.
Let me know if you want more information about my experience with any of them.
